How to Submit Erotica.
All submissions to The Daily Erotica should be made through our online submission form below.
What Erotica I’m Looking For.
There are no hard and fast rules about what will be published on The Daily Erotica. As the site develops and grows, I will let it naturally evolve with content that excites and provokes the reader into new areas of erotica. Our individual sexuality develops with time and experience. Think back to what turned you on as a teenager, and what turns you on now?
But saying that, look at our archives, and you’ll get a sense of what the site’s primary demographic is.
Length.
I like to keep things around 3-5 minutes in length (900-1500 words), but as you can see from our archives, there are the briefest of paragraphs to full-on short stories.
Rights.
I ask for first serial rights on any story we publish. This means that the story should not have appeared anywhere else, either in print or online. (This includes publication on an author’s own website.) When we publish a story, we ask for a brief period of exclusivity (usually six months) and the right to keep the story in print as part of the anthology. We don’t ask for more rights than we need to produce our anthologies or place any limits on what you can do with your story after the exclusivity period. Copyright always remains with the author.
Simultaneous Submissions.
If you have submitted your work to other publishers at the same time as submitting to us, please let me know if those are accepted elsewhere, and I can remove those works from consideration.
Multiple Submissions!
I don’t mind how many pieces you send me, but don’t send me everything you have ever written! Keep it to three pieces, and I won’t get overwhelmed. Please submit them individually so that I can keep track of your submissions.
How Much I Pay.
Right now, I’m not paying for published work, but that will change as the site readership turns into a steady revenue. Ideally, I’ll pay $100 per thousand words for the stories we publish. Contributors will also receive a portion of profits from The 365 Days of Erotica book sales.
When Can You Expect to Hear from Me?
Typically I’ll get back to you within a week. Sometimes it’ll take a little longer than that if I’ve been travelling and let the submissions build up. But if you feel like I’ve missed you, then drop me a line through the contact me page.
Good Luck!
